- App 1.6.4
- Over-the-air update
Everything that reached production between the patient beta opening on 17 August and the "What's new in Acumi" message on 13 September. The biggest changes are the new Learn tab and a rebuilt Progress.
The app changes came as over-the-air updates to version 1.6.4, the last one on 13 September. Android testers also moved to the 1.6.4 store build in the first week of the beta.
App
- New: a Learn tab, in the place the Inspiration tab used to be. It has two sections, Getting started and Library, and opens on Getting started until you have read every step of the guide. The Library moved here from Community, which is now Discussions and Your team.
- New: a guide for people who are newly diagnosed, under Getting started. It runs from what ADHD is to what to bring to a short appointment. If you have told Acumi where you are with treatment, the steps follow that stage and there is a Change link beside it. If you have not, you get the whole guide in its default order.
- New: How the app works, also under Getting started. Short answers about using Acumi, each on its own page with a screenshot of the part of the app it describes.
- New: read aloud. Every Library article and every guide step has a player at the top of the page. The audio is made in advance in two voices, with a pause at each heading, paragraph and list item. Abbreviations such as e.g. and i.e. are read as words.
- New: Favourites. The heart on a thought for the day, an article or a guide step keeps it in one list, under Learn > Library > Favourites. Thoughts you saved before this change are already there.
- New: the thought for the day is now a card on Today, after your actions. Its controls sit together at the top, the text is easier to read, and Favourites at the foot of the card opens your list.
- New: Today can show a card after your actions. One kind is a line from your own record, for example "Restlessness was better this week than last." The other is the community question of the day, until you have answered it. Two cards can show when nothing but medication is due, and one when a check-in or questionnaire is waiting. The pick is made once a day, so it stays put when you come back.
- New: Find a professional, at the foot of Your team. It opens ADHSpace, a UK directory of ADHD-informed coaches and specialists, in your browser. No information about you is shared.
- New: record an earlier day. Tap the date at the top of a check-in or any logging sheet and pick Today, Yesterday or another date. It goes back 120 days, or to the day you joined if that is further. On a day that already has answers, the check-in shows them ready to change.
- New: double-tap the + button to go straight into a check-in. A single tap still opens the menu.
- New: two sections on the check-in, Activities and What else was in your day. Both start folded. Activities takes steps and exercise minutes, and opens by itself when your watch has already sent a number so you can check it.
- New: Suggest a question, in Community > Discussions. The Acumi team reads each one first. You can see what became of your own suggestions, and nobody else is told who sent one.
- New: a daily check-in reminder at 8pm, with its own switch in Settings > Notifications. It stays quiet on a day you have already checked in.
- New: Vibration, a switch in Settings > Accessibility.
- New: if you already use Acumi and a clinic invites you, the invitation waits on Today. It says what the clinic will see. Nothing is linked until you tap Accept.
- New: when a clinic ends your care in Acumi you are told by message, notification and email, the app picks up the change without a restart, and the medicines that clinic added become yours to change or stop. The clinic moves to Past clinics on Your team.
- New: account deletion for people who are, or have been, with a clinic. Your login and your details go, along with everything you recorded on your own, but what you recorded in a clinic's care is kept for that clinic with your name and contact details taken off.
- Improved: Progress has been rebuilt. It is on the Insights tab. Tap a chart and it opens full screen, and a tap outside it or a swipe down from the top closes it again.
- Improved: pick the period above the charts: a week, a month, 3 months or 6 months. The arrows step back through time, as far as 12 months. On a full-screen chart you can also drag left and right to move a few days at a time.
- Improved: charts follow the calendar. Each reading sits on its own date and a gap between readings is a dashed line. Level lines are named in words, and a full-screen chart switches between a line and bars.
- Improved: life events and the yes-or-no parts of your day show under a chart as "Also in this window", with when each one happened. Up to three are marked on the chart in their own colour. With more than three, you choose.
- Improved: the cards on Progress are one per line and cover the same period as the chart they open. Steps, exercise and sleep duration are bars. Blood pressure shows both readings, and on a wider phone a card also gets gridlines and a few dates.
- Improved: the pills above the charts always show every category you follow. Steps and exercise have moved out of Biometrics into a new Activity pill, and a Devices pill holds everything a watch or phone recorded. Something you follow but have not recorded yet is a single quiet line under its pill.
- Improved: a chart appears from the first reading. It used to need three days. The switcher on a full-screen chart now lists every metric you record.
- Improved: ratings are single words now. None, Slight, Moderate, Substantial and Major replace Not at all, A little, A fair bit, A lot and Took over, everywhere the app shows a rating.
- Improved: the symptom step of a check-in shows only the symptoms you follow. Each one is a single line until you tap it.
- Improved: answer the same question twice in one day and the later answer replaces the first. Charts use the last one.
- Improved: the check-in no longer asks the separate sleep rating. The Sleep quality dial covers it, and earlier answers still chart under the name Rough sleep.
- Improved: Pick what matters and the matching onboarding step use one list. A chosen item has a tick and a solid edge in a lighter colour. A "Looking for mood, focus, sleep or measurements?" link explains the things Acumi always asks about, so you do not need to pick them.
- Improved: the Library has 12 articles, each with a picture, in two columns with a pill for each subject. The articles were rewritten to read more naturally, lists show as bullet points, and authors' names are no longer shown.
- Improved: 92 new thoughts for the day. A thought now only comes back 45 days after you last saw it. Two quotes whose source could not be confirmed have been taken out.
- Improved: the community question of the day is scheduled every day to 15 December.
- Improved: Add someone, on Your team, is a full-screen form grouped into who they are, how to reach them and anything else. Each role has its own icon.
- Improved: the How Acumi works demo in onboarding runs slowly enough to read. With Reduce motion on, each scene is a still you move between with the dots.
- Improved: Settings > Notifications tells you when your phone is blocking Acumi's notifications, and offers to ask again or open your phone's settings.
- Improved: feedback sent from the app now includes the phone model, its operating system version and the app build, so a problem is easier to reproduce. No device identifier or device name is sent.
- Improved: a questionnaire row on Today says which occasion it is for. Only a questionnaire a clinic assigned carries the Clinic label.
- Improved: in the journal, today's card of device readings names the device that sent them. Tap it to correct a reading.
- Fixed: after unlocking with your password, the app could ask for Face ID or your fingerprint again straight away.
- Fixed: Pick what matters, and other screens that slide up from the bottom, could stop scrolling at the larger text sizes. On Android, swipe down to close now only starts from the top of the screen.
- Fixed: on Android phones set to three-button navigation, the system buttons covered the tab labels. The onboarding screens could also show two half pages at once.
- Fixed: a symptom removed from Pick what matters could not be added back.
- Fixed: a number you typed in could lose out to your watch's reading for the same day, and the next sync could overwrite a correction.
- Fixed: a watch sending heart rate every day stopped Today asking for weight and blood pressure.
- Fixed: sensory overload, mental overload, masking, burnout and routine disruption could be recorded but did not show on Progress.
- Fixed: something recorded for a day before you joined only showed on that day in the journal. It now reaches Progress too.
- Fixed: "You're done for the day" came back every time the app opened. It shows once now, at the moment you finish.
- Fixed: the app could say the database was offline when it was only slow to answer.
- Fixed: on iPhone, the date and time pickers in the journal drew over the form behind them.
- Fixed: the fill on the amount sliders for caffeine, alcohol and the other lifestyle factors was hard to see, especially in dark mode.
- Fixed: "Add someone to your team" on Schedule appointment closed the appointment and lost what you had typed. It opens the form on top now.
- Fixed: when a day's readings came from more than one device, the names ran together as if they were one. Each device is named on its own.
- Fixed: medication and health reminders could count as sent when the phone had notifications switched off.
- Fixed: a security issue in reminders.
Clinician portal
- New: a dose ladder in a patient's medication history. Each medicine is drawn as steps across the treatment period, and any reasons given for a change are listed under Notes on changes.
- New: discharge asks for a reason: Care complete, Moved to another provider, No longer engaging, Patient asked or Other. Owners, clinic admins and a patient's own practitioner can discharge. Secretaries can no longer.
- New: Show discharged, on the Patients page. A discharged patient opens read-only, with what they recorded while in your care and nothing after it. Invite back is the only action.
- New: charts on a patient's Overview shade the time before they joined your clinic, labelled "Before joining".
- New: when a patient with records in your care deletes their account, your clinic is told. Those records are kept for your clinic with the patient's name and contact details removed.
- Improved: blood pressure is one chart with two lines.
- Improved: Mood, Focus and Sleep show the word the patient chose, such as "Settled", in place of a number marked "unitless". Their charts carry a legend for each band. A warning names the direction, for example "worsening, last 7 days", and uses the current metric name.
- Improved: a patient with no clinic can only join yours by accepting your invitation in the app. Assign Clinic and Move Clinic now ask you to send an invitation.
- Improved: the next review date is suggested, 28 days after the scheduled review. It stays a suggestion.
- Improved: when a patient answers the same question twice in a day, progress charts, averages and warnings count the later answer once.
- Fixed: ending care at one clinic. If a patient with two clinics is discharged from one, their practitioner now follows the clinic they stay with. Moving or assigning a patient lands them at the clinic you picked. A discharge also withdraws that clinic's unfinished questionnaires, and cancels its scheduled reviews and any automated workflows that had not started.
- Fixed: errors on charts and scores. Mood, Focus and Sleep charts used a 1 to 5 scale when they run from -1 to +1. A falling dial that started below zero could show as improving. A worsening trend could be coloured green, and an unchanged questionnaire score showed an up arrow.
- Fixed: doses on the Active Medications card had no unit. Editing a prescription in millilitres or tablets reset it to milligrams.
- Fixed: smaller wording and label faults. A review due later today said tomorrow. A count of days past a due date carried a minus sign, and "1 days" now reads "1 day". Questionnaire codes such as ASRS_V11 read as ASRS, and the adherence chip on the patient banner uses the same colour as the patient list.
- Fixed: a security issue in clinic linking.
Care reports
- Improved: each clinic keeps its own Cliniko link for a patient. A patient who moves to another clinic starts unlinked there and is matched against that clinic's Cliniko account.
- Improved: when a patient answered the same question twice in a day, the report uses the later answer. For Mood, Focus and Sleep, an answer the patient gave comes before an Apple Health State of Mind reading.
- Improved: when a clinic's care ends, reports it had queued but not yet produced are withdrawn.
- Fixed: blank chart labels. Every label on a care report chart printed as an empty box, and they now print properly, on round axis numbers such as 60, 80, 100, 120 and 140 for blood pressure.
- Fixed: a report produced straight after completing a review covered no days. It now covers the period since the review before.
- Fixed: changes in blood pressure and heart rate printed with long runs of decimals. One decimal place now.
- Fixed: sending a report to Cliniko. The upload now follows Cliniko's own upload steps, and the Cliniko shard is taken from the API key.
- Fixed: a security issue in the Cliniko integration.
Website
- New: a walkthrough film for clinicians, at acumi.app/clinician-demo.html.
- New: partner links. A visitor who arrives from a partner's link keeps that partner's tag on the way to the App Store or Google Play. Nothing is stored on the visitor's device and nothing is sent anywhere.
- Improved: the user guide and the clinician onboarding page were rewritten against the app as it is now.
- Improved: the privacy notice explains deleting your account when you are, or have been, with a clinic.
- Improved: the support page matches the two-dial check-in, and says where to change your treatment stage.
- Fixed: the survey pages at /beta, /shape, /checkin and /wrap returned Page Not Found. They are back. A website update can no longer go out without them.
